Victorian Enamel & Seed Pearl Locket & Chain in 15ct Gold- Secondhand

A Victorian oval enamel and seed pearl locket in 15ct yellow gold. The locket has a seed pearl set anchor with a blue and white enamel border. The sides and back of the case are chased and engraved. 

In Victorian jewellery the anchor symbolised hope, steadfastness and stability. Anchor jewellery was often given to sailors or their loved ones awaiting safe return.

Unstamped. Tested as 15ct Gold. 

Attached is a 9ct yellow gold curb chain with a bolt ring fastener.
