To get things started I thought we could feature 3 different military watches that we have very recently purchased:-
The first is a C.W.C. watch dating from 1976. It uses a swiss ETA mechanical movement. This is an army issue model (Stamped WIO). The Cabot Watch Company was formed in 1972 specifically to supply tough reliable watches to the British military. We are retailing this watch for £695.
The second is an English made Smiths mechanical wrist watch. This features a luminous dial and is on a 'NATO' strap. The watch is stamped to the back with a 1970 ordnance mark. Our watch will have been one of the last produced by the Smiths Watch Co. The last British mass produced wrist watch ceased production in 1972. This is a small piece of British watch making history. Retail price is £1350.
Last, but by no means least is this fine Omega military wrist watch. It contains a Calibre 283 automatic movement which dates from 1953. RAF issue (The watch is stamped 6B to back). To those in the know, the watch has a 'fat arrow' dial. This was an Omega own replacement dial probably fitted in the mid 1950s due to the fact that the originals contained a dangerous amount of Radioactive Radon in the luminous paint! A very clean example, retailing for £2750.
